Mariah Carey hangs up on radio interview

Sensitive much? the successful, beautiful and very talented Mariah Carey hung up on radio host after taking one of his comments as an insult. This, almost a week after she attended The Hills Premiere Party in New York.

"The singer quickly ended a phone conversation yesterday (March 30) after radio host DJ Reggie Yates suggested that Carey has only sold 80 million albums around the world.

Yates explained, "I think she took that as an insult. That is how the conversation ended with me and Mariah! She took 80 million albums as an insult. She is mad cool."

The Kids Choice Awards

Nickelodeon's annual KCA's were on Saturday night at 8pm. The short award show was nick's 21st and is still one of its only chances to get viewers. Can you imagine if they had excluded the Disney channel stars? That'd be some sucky award show. The Jo Bro's did take Favourite Musical Group and Miley Cyrus did take Favourite female singer and favourite TV actress. However, Drake and Josh took home favourite TV show. Phew- saved Nick's ass there!

Madonna's new single, a hit

I'm sure we all know about the legendary Madonna. Who doesn't?? And even today she still manages to rise to the top. her new album, Hard Candy, featuring one of iTunes most dowloaded songs, "Four Minutes (to save the world)" with Justin Timberlake and Timberland is a HIT. Its unique and catchy tune easily grabbed the attention of listeners. HEY, the lady's 49 years old and she's still topping the charts! Way. To. Go.

There's a big shiny rock being displayed on Jamie's left hand, and we know it's not a mood ring. No word yet about a wedding date with her 18 year old "fiance" Casey Aldridge, but the baby is due sometime in the summer. woohoo.
But perhaps the even better news - and by better we mean interesting - is the probably about one of Youtube's most watched videos of little Jamie Lynn standing up for Brittney. Outside Sushi House Unico. when a woman simply voiced her opinion, demanding Brittney move out of the neighborhood, Jamie Lynn didn't hesitate to step in. I knew about this a while ago, and I'm sure most of you did too, but I never knew how popular it was on Youtube - or that the video was even ON there.

You know you're famous when people suddenly start creating waxed figures that look exactly like you. Lucky, fifteen year old Miley Cyrus, is pretty much as famous as any other hollywood actor now. With Hannah Montana building its own empire and Disney just milking it, we begin to wonder... when will this all die down? Not anytime soon.

At LongIsland Hospital, J Lo finally gave birth to her long awaited twins. One's a boy and one's a girl, how cute! And now, the official baby pictures will be published in People Magazine, hitting newstands TOMORROW. Hopefully they got their mother's good looks.

Avril Lavigne... Ticket Troubles

We all loved Avril's hit Girlfriend (even if she did get sued), but it looks like her fans would rather not see her in person. Ticket sales for Avril's '08 tour are suprisingly low and it has just been updated that she has now added the Jonas Brothers as an opening act. The Jonas brothers?! Wouldn't that just suck? to have a crowd full of people just waiting to see your opening act instead of you?
Good Luck Avril, you're gonna need it.

Plot: centers around a web show three friends all contribute to.

Comments: honestly? This is by far the worst show Nick has ever aired. The story lines are unrealistic and the characters seem to worship the main character a bit too much - but hey, it's Nick, what'd you expect? Miranda Cosgrove couldn't be any worse with her so called "acting". Her stiff poses and fake smile are enough to piss any viewer off. She doesn't deliver her lines as well as you'd expect. although most of us did enjoy watching her in Drake and Josh, iCarly is a stinker.




Hannah Montana
Rating: 3/4 stars

Starring: Miley Ray Cyrus
Plot: A Malibu teenager originally from Nashville leads an interesting double life as a pop star.
Airs on: Disney
Comments: Season 1 through to season 2 were definate crowd pleasers. Miley was a unique character and her different story line made the show all that better. but the success of this one show has all the fame going to this teenager's sad little head. if you've been watching the latest episodes of HM, you've probably been thinking the same thing I have: "What's wrong with that girl's face?!" Seriously, we love you Miley, but I think your confidence level could be lowered. But other than that you are sure to get a decent amount of laughs from this particular show.



Wizards of Waverly Place
Rating: 2/4 stars

Starring: Selena Gomez
Plot: A mixed hispanic family (most are wizards) deal with everyday teenage problems with the help of their magic.
Airs on: Disney
Comments: Interesting show, however the characater Selena play, Alex russo, isn't exactly the type of character little girls would look up to. She comes off a bit spoiled and rude, especially to her brothers. Even though she is the middle child, unrealistically, she's the one her parents pay the most attention to. Not to mention that every station has at least one show with wizards and witchcraft. Sabrina the teenage Witch, ring a bell anyone?

Even hannah montana is shooting its own movie. Cuh-razy. Disney's just bathing in money aren't they? It's whoopin' Nick's ass.

"ABC is developing a High School Musical-themed reality competition series that is being targeted for broadcast this summer, Daily Variety reported Sunday. Production will begin with a nationwide casting search followed by selected participants studying at a music conservatory, Variety reported, adding contestants will be booted from the competition on a weekly basis until a winner is chosen. How the contestants will be eliminated or what the grand prize will be remains unknown, according to Variety. While ABC is "in discussions" with a production company to work on the project, Variety reported a deal has yet to be finalized. The reality series' airing on ABC would represent the first time Disney Channel has "shared" its High School Musical franchise with a sister network, Variety reported. (Disney Channel and ABC are both part of The Walt Disney Company's Disney-ABC Television Group.) Idol, Deal or no dea and The Hills...

Three of our favourite shows have either had their ratings go down, are being put to an end, or SUED...?

American Idol
with ratings down and other shows on the rise, one of the world's most popular and most watched television shows' ratings are dropping. Even though the number now is still impressive, it's not enough. Big plans have been made to bring the show back up, and we could be expecting some major surprises coming our way this season.

The Hills
Gossip. Lies. Rumors. It's what we all love about shows like Laguna Beach and it's popular spin-off, The Hills. But, after beeing followed around everywhere by MTV cameras and getting constant attention for being in the MTV "ten spot" every Monday night, The Hills gal Lauren Conrad may be taking break. There are still about eight more episodes to air though, most in Paris. Looking forward to the end? We certainly are!

Deal or no Deal, SUED?
"An illegal gambling lawsuit has been filed against NBC for the Lucky Case Game featured on Deal or No Deal.
Columbus-based attorney Jerry Buchanan went before the Georgia Supreme Court last week on behalf of the Hardin family, who participated in the Lucky Case Game and undoubtedly lost.
Buchanan claims a state law dating back to 1764 prohibits lotteries and any forms of gambling, allowing for participants to receive their money back. Meanwhile, state lotteries are permitted through the Georgia constitution.
The interactive game prompts viewers to guess which of six cases contains a cash prize of $10,000 to $100,000. Correct responses are then entered into a lottery for a chance at winning the prize.
Entries are made via text message for a 99-cent charge. If the court finds NBC is violating state law, the network could stand to lose tens of millions of dollars, says U.S. District Court Judge William C. O'Kelley.
NBC contends the game is a promotional advertising tool rather than a lottery, and therefore does not violate any laws.

Book Series of the week: THE CLIQUE

The Clique by Lisi Harrison.

This series is definetely one of the most addicting I have ever come across. With nine books currently published and a rumored two more to go, plus a Warner Brothers' movie in production, Lisi must be on top of the world.
The story narrates the lives of four wealthy, spoiled, popular and incredibly insecure twleve year olds who live in Westchester, New York. Massie Block, their 'alpha', is the girl everyone (even the readers) want to be. The clique cosists of the following girls: Alicia Rivera - the spanish beauty, Dylan Marvil - the girl who thinks she's fat and is the daughter of the Host of the Daily Grind, Kristen Gregory - a smart, atheltic blonde who is secretly what they call 'poor' and last but not least Claire Lyons - the new girl. All nine books The Clique to Breakfast at Tiffany's, show the constant struggles of trying to stay on top. Designer clothing, handbags and accessories as well as nothing but the best material items are clearly described and creative plots and settings make these books difficult to put down. If you're looking for something good to keep you up all night, I suggest this entire series.

That's right! This exciting series is indeed becoming a movie.
